Holding a Connecting to Protect Global Summit to address the negative impacts of children globally accessing legal** pornography online.
The Summit will bring together key stakeholders from multiple countries around the world to learn from one another and collaborate for the purpose of aligning initiatives globally to protect children from accessing legal pornography online. Our learnings from the Global Summit will inform a Global Action Plan – Strategic Response Report (see Goal 2).
As a prerequisite of attending the Summit, delegates are required to sign a memorandum of understanding and where possible, contribute by providing an overview of their country’s current approaches to addressing this issue.
The Summit will facilitate the provision of expert-led educational and collaborative sessions on strategic responses to protect children and young people from legal pornography online including:
Current Research, neuroscience, psychology, child protection, and sociology
Legislation and policy
Technology and age verification
Education & awareness strategies across all sectors
Therapeutic protocols and strategies
Establishing a Global Coalition
Establishing membership in the Connecting to Protect Global Coalition.
The Global Coalition will identify and educate key stakeholders globally to champion a response that will gain traction at multiple levels, igniting a nonpartisan approach to changing laws and protecting children and young people from accessing legal pornography online.
Connecting to Protect core members will produce a Global Action Plan – Strategic Response Report (informed by the Summit learnings—see Goal 1), aligning global initiatives to protect children and young people from accessing legal pornography online. This Global Action Plan will be available as a guide for Coalition Members to adapt to their respective countries.
Key stakeholders will be invited to enroll and participate in the Connecting to Protect Global Coalition
All Coalition Members are to ratify the Connecting to Protect Statement of Negative Impacts and agree to participate in the Global Action Plan as applicable within their respective countries.
Connecting to Protect Global Coalition
Setting strategic actions for the Connecting to Protect Global Coalition Launch.
These will include:
Formation of specialized working groups (see Goal 1) to mobilize key stakeholders.
Members will be supported to develop and implement an action plan specific to their country to protect children from accessing legal online pornography.
As they work towards implementing the Global Action Plan within their respective countries, members will be provided with an opportunity for collaborative contribution, supported by learnings from Coalition members.
Establish a Connecting to Protect
Global Resource & Research Hub
Develop and establish a Connecting to Protect Resource and Research Hub.
Through Coalition membership, steering committees and coordinators will be appointed for each of the following:
Global Resource Hub:
Age verification legislation, policy, and legal templates.
Processes for implementing safeguarding measures for child protection.
Therapeutic processes, practices, and policies to implement rehabilitation and prevention of long term mental, behavioral, safety and health consequences.
Education and awareness materials.
Global Research Hub:
Research collation, reviews and links to existing journal articles.
Methodologies and templates, including recommended guidelines and identifying areas that require further research.
Identification of researched negative impacts requiring responses, and provision of a comprehensive framework of recommended solutions.
